JERUSALEM, Arpil 10 (RIA Novosti) - The Holy Fire has descended on the Holy Sepulchre Church in Jerusalem. It descended on the stone bed where the Savior's body was put after the Deposition.
At the moment of the miracle only Patriarch Eirinaios of Jerusalem was in the cave. During the prayer for the Holy Fire, flashes of light could be seen in the Holy Sepulchre Church.
Afterwards, Patriarch Eirinaios left the Holy Sepulchre cave carrying an icon lamp with the Holy Fire. The candles began to light up in the hands of many believers.
Then believers passed the Holy Fire to each other. Russian delegates who are now in the Holy Sepulchre Church received some Holy Fire too. They will bring it to the Church of Christ the Savior for the night church service.
The Russian delegation's spiritual leaders are Bishop Alexander of Dmitrov, Vicar of Patriarch Alexis II of Moscow and all Russia.
