RUSSIAN-INDIAN BRAHMOS MISSILE SYSTEMS GOING TO MARKETS

MOSCOW, APRIL 6. (RIA Novosti) -- Two Russian federal state unitary enterprises - Rosoboronexport and Machine-Building Scientific Industrial Association - and the Russian-Indian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace Ltd, will promote Russian-Indian missiles systems BrahMos to the foreign markets.

The Rosoboronexport press service told RIA Novosti that this agreement was signed in Moscow on Tuesday by Rosoboronexport general director Andrei Belyaminov, NPO Machine-Building general director Gerbert Yefremov and BrahMos Aerospace Ltd. managing director A.Siwathanu Pillei.

"The plan intends joint marketing and other steps to promote Brahmos ship- and aircraft-based missile systems to the world market", said the press service.

The NPO Machine-Building, based in Reutov near Moscow, is among the largest Russian developers and producers of space rocketry. In 2001 the NPO Machine-Building and Rosoboronexport concluded a general agreement on cooperation in the promotion of the former's products and services to the foreign markets.

The Russian-Indian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace Ltd. was established in 1998 in line with the bilateral agreement between the governments of Indian and Russia. Its founders are the Defence Research and Development Organisation of the Indian Defence Ministry and the NPO Machine-Building.

The main directions of work of BrahMos Aerospace Ltd, are joint development, production and promotion to the foreign markets of different missile systems.
