TRANSNAFTA SIGNS AGREEMENT TO DELIVER NATURAL GAS TO BELARUS

MOSCOW, March 30, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Transnafta and Beltransgaz have signed an additional agreement for 500 million cubic meters of natural gas to be delivered to Belarus in April, Denis Vinogradov, the head of the Transnafta's natural gas department, to RIA Novosti.

"Today an additional agreement for 500 million cubic meters of natural gas to be delivered to Belarus at the old price [$46.68 per thousand cubic meters] has been signed," Mr. Vinogradov.

On March 23, Sibur, a subsidiary of Gazprom and the only independent natural gas supplier to Belarus, signed a contract with Beltransgaz to deliver 420 million cubic meters of natural gas to Belarus. This volume should be enough until April 1.

Earlier the company has signed the agreement on deliveries of 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Belarus in 2004, 200 million cubic meters of which were delivered in March.

Gazprom has not delivered natural gas to Belarus since January 1, 2004. On March 24, Mr. Vinogradov said that all Transnafta contracts with Beltransgaz have been fulfilled. Itera, another independent Russian suppliers, stopped natural gas deliveries on February 12.
