MOSCOW, MARCH 30. (RIA NOVOSTI) -- The European Union is ready to help Russia in fighting AIDS (Acquired Immune deficiency Syndrome), Richard Wright, chief delegate of the EU Russian mission, told the Transatlantic summit of the business and labour representatives for AIDS.

We are entirely ready to help Russia in everything concerning AIDS, he said.

At the same time, Richard Wright voiced the hope that the Russian business community would be actively involved in combating AIDS.

The Russian business community can, following the example of the European business community, work in three directions - lobbying anti-AIDS measures, realising anti-AIDS programmes, attracting the business community to the introduction of new programmes to combat the HIV-infection, Wright said.
