Alexander Tarabykin, the secretary general of the Moscow Paralympic Committee and the vice president of the Russian Paralympic Committee, told RIA Novosti that the forum is especially important because it is being held the same year as the summer Olympic and Paralympic Games and can give sportsmen, physicians and coaches practical recommendations for these major international sports competitions.
Mr. Tarabykin said that within the framework of the forum, a session of the European Olympic Committee commission for science and sports medicine will be held for the first time in Russia.
An exhibition of the latest designs of rehabilitation and sports medicine from Russian and foreign producers will be held at the same time as the forum.
