NAZRAN, 27 March 2004. (RIA Novosti). -Two servicemen of the Russian Interior Troops died when attacked in Ingushetia (Russia's North Caucasian republic neighboring on Chechnya), a source in the Ingush Interior Ministry told RIA Novosti.
"At 12.30 unidentified men shot at two servicemen of the Interior Troops who drove up in their Ural military truck to the cafe Erzi located at the federal Kavkaz motor road in the Nazran district," the source said. According to him, the servicemen died on the spot.
The Volcano-5 special plan has been launched in the republic to find and detain the attackers as soon as possible.
