MOSCOW, MARCH 25. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Within 18 or 24 month the prices of oil will remain at a rather high level to maintain stability of the Russia national budget, Victor Pleskachevski, head of the property committee of the State Duma, told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
"This makes it possible to carry out reforms with social responsibility, feedback", stressed the deputy of the lower chamber of parliament.
Pleskachevski noted that the tendency of increasing prices of oil is, so far, observed in the world. "Only a massive turn to other fuels can prevent it", he added.
The deputy noted that at this stage he is for preserving the budget surplus. "It provides a safety margin for reforms", the parliamentarian stressed.
Opening up the cabinet sitting on Thursday, Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said that the government is getting down to work on the budget for 2005. Fradkov has set before the cabinet the goal of forming a balanced-out budget.
