SURKOV AND SECHIN APPOINTED DEPUTY HEADS OF KREMLIN ADMINISTRATION

SOCHI, March 25, 2004. (RIA Novosti). Vladislav Surkov and Igor Sechin have been appointed deputy heads of the Kremlin administration, administration head Dmitry Medvedev told journalists following the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.

He gave no information on the distribution of their duties. Mr. Surkov was formerly in charge with internal policy issues and Mr. Sechin headed the President's chancellery.

Dmitry Medvedev is not expected to have the first deputy.

According to Mr. Medvedev, the President is to have nine aides.

Alexander Abramov, a former deputy administration head, will be one of the presidential aides, he added.
