MOSCOW, March 24, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - The independent supplier of Russian gas to Belarus, the TransNafta private company, is likely to develop small gas deposits in West Siberia, TransNafta director general Vladimir Kondrachuk told a news conference in RIA Novosti.

According to him, when major projects were being developed in West Siberia, "many small deposits were wrongly forgotten." "Quite possible that independent companies will be interested in them. Nor do I exclude the possibility of developing small and medium-size gas deposits," Kondrachuk said.

"We have been constantly studying this market," he added.

Presently, the TransNafta private company does not produce gas.
