RUSSIA-GREECE: PUTIN & KARAMANLIS EXCHANGE GREETINGS

MOSCOW, MARCH 23, (RIA NOVOSTI). Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Constantinos Karamanlis of Greece had a telephone conference on the latter's initiative today, reports the Kremlin press service.

The conferees exchanged hearty congratulations as the one recently won presidency and the other was appointed to premiership. They discussed the most topical aspects of bilateral partnership in many fields, and both confirmed their determination for closer contacts on the entire range of bilateral issues, whether these concern trade and the economy or politics, Kremlin PR say in a statement.

President Putin wished the Greek government every success with the Olympics, which Athens will host this summer.
