Art director of the festival and famous Russian jazz musician Anatoly Kroll said this at a press conference.
"One-off jazz festivals are now held in Moscow, but mostly foreign performers participate in them. It is not bad, but we have our own, Russian musicians and composers, who perform at the same level, and we want to introduce them to jazz fans," said Mr. Kroll.
Anatoly Kroll headed the creative commission of the Russian Composers' Union after composer Yuri Saulsky's death. He said he continued Mr. Saulsky's cause, i.e. "to bring jazz closer to wide public." According to the head of the festival, about 15 bands, ensembles and soloists - Oleg Lundstrem's jazz band, Igor Butman's big band and the youth group Akademik Band - are going to participate in the festival.
