ICRC HELPS VICTIMS OF ETHNIC CONFLICTS IN KOSOVO

MOSCOW, March 22 (RIA Novosti) - The International Committee of the Red Cross and its partner, the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement are helping people, who suffered from the interethnic conflict in Kosovo. Medicines and equipment to treat those wounded are supplied to Kosovo hospitals, the ICRC mission in Moscow told RIA Novosti.

In addition, the ICRC enlarges its food reserves and asks for blood donors' helps.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is concerned about consequences of attacks on civilians, cultural centers and religious buildings.

The organization follows the developments in Kosovo and is ready for further actions if necessary, he ICRC mission in Moscow said.

The International Committee of the Red Cross has been working in former Yugoslavia since the early 1990s. It helps local residents search for their relatives, who went missing during the recent armed conflicts in the Balkans.
