"Starting on March 16, all flights from Moscow to Vienna and back are serviced by the new planes Airbus A319, built specially for Aeroflot. They will have 20 business-class and 96 economic-class chairs," said the official spokesman for Aeroflot. Passengers will now distinguish Aeroflot planes by the new colouring -silvery fuselage with an orange strip, dark blue tail with the flying Russian flag.
The Aeroflot new service standard intends separate food according to a special menu card. Each dish is served on a china plate. Special for the Moscow-Vienna-Moscow route the Aeroflot chef has designed a fusion menu.
The Aeroflot-Russian Airlines is the largest Russian air company, 51 of whose shares are state-owned. It controls 11 percent of the domestic and 70 percent of the international market of air transportation of the Russian Federation. In 2002 its net profit was $89.3 million according to international standards. In 2003 Aeroflot carried 5.9 million passengers. Its aircraft fleet is made up of 100 aircraft, 27 of which are Airbus and Boeing planes manufactured in 2000-2004.
