MOSCOW, MARCH 17 (RIA NOVOSTI) - On Wednesday the Russian veterinary service imposed temporary limitations on the imports of poultry from the Netherlands, where cases of the bird flu have been revealed, the press service of the Russian Agriculture Ministry said.

The import limitations concern live poultry, poultry meat, incubation eggs and all kinds of poultry products without heat treatment, poultry food and additives. The imports of used poultry farming and slaughter equipment have also been restricted.

"All the earlier permissions issued for the imports of all cargoes under the veterinary service control have been canceled," said the press service.

It has introduced similar measures with regard to some Asian countries where the bird flu has become wide spread, killing over 20 people, as well as regarding the American states Delaware, Texas and Maryland.
