BISHKEK, March 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev has congratulated Vladimir Putin on his victory in the presidential elections.
"We were highly interested and excited about your election campaign and are greatly encouraged by your convincing victory," Mr. Akayev said.
He is convinced that Russia's choice shows overall support for the reforms aimed at further consolidation of political stability, economic power and international authority of the great country".
According to Askar Akayev, Kyrgyzstan assigns priority to the development of cooperation with Russia, "our true friend and reliable ally".
