GROZNY, March 12, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - An attempt on the life of Chechnya's two deputy interior ministers has been committed in Grozny.
According to a source in the republic's interior ministry, when a convoy vehicle with the high-level officials was passing by, an explosive device earlier planted on the side of the road went off. This incident took place on Thursday evening in 1st Sadovaya Street, Leninsky district.
Deputy Interior Ministers Colonel Sultan Satuyev and Colonel Justice Mussa Evsultanov and their escort were not injured. No victims have been repoted among local residents either.
An inquiry has been launched into the incident.
