ROSTOV-ON-DON, MARCH 11 (RIA Novosti correspondent Sophia Brykanova) - Russia has much yet to do for jurymen's safety, what with blatant current instances of their harassment, warns Vyacheslav Lebedev, Supreme Court president.

"The state is in duty bound today to provide conditions for normal jury routine, ensure jurymen's safety, and rule out influences on them," he said to the media, and pointed out that juries need greater safety measures even than judges. "We are tackling the problem," he added.

Mr. Lebedev is now in Rostov-on-Don, provincial centre in European Russia's south, for a Coordination Council session of federal district South regional, territorial and republican court presidents.
