KRAKOW, MARCH 10 (RIA NOVOSTI) - The Slav Four - Russia, Belarus, Poland and Ukraine - will hold an expert conference on energy security, they determined after recent suspension of Russian gas transits via Belarus. The information came from Marek Siwiec, head of Poland's National Security Bureau, as he was addressing a news conference to sum up a meeting of the four countries' Security Council chiefs in Krakow.

Gas export problems undermine the confidence-building cause, warned Mr. Siwiec. The recent situation was unprecedented - and it had no war or any other dramatic event to excuse it, he stressed while calling to make "practical analysis of the dire developments lest they are re-enacted".

Russian gas prices will stay out of the upcoming conference agenda, the security chiefs have agreed between themselves, he added.

The prospective gas export conference will have a unique format to represent three countries that control entire Russian gas transits to Europe, plus the exporter country. "That's all we need for debates," remarked Marek Siwiec.

The Krakow conferees also determined to convene a quadripartite expert meeting on frontier cooperation and border guard.
