TBILISI, March 8 (RIA Novosti) - Leader of Adjaria Aslan Abashidze had no right to establish a state security ministry in this autonomous republic, David Berdzenishvili, leader of the Republican Party of Georgia, said Monday in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.

"By his methods of running the autonomy Aslan Abashidze violates the Constitution of Georgia. The head of Adjaria in fact has established an antidemocratic regime," Mr. Berdzenishvili said.

At the same time, the Republican Party leader stressed that "the question of the existence of the State Security Ministry in Batumi [capital of Adjaria] cannot be a matter for a legal dispute."

"By submitting a bill on abolishing the state security ministry in Adjaria, the President of Georgia acted in keeping with the country's Constitution and in the framework of his powers," David Berdzenishvili said.
