BELGRADE, March 5, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - A Ukrainian vessel carrying explosives met with an accident late Thursday night in the Dardanelles Strait when emerging into the Aegean Sea, reported the Anatolian news agency.

The ship Delfin-1 was bound for Lebanon. It found itself in a dangerous area with underwater rocks and ran aground.

The captain sent out a distress signal, saying that the ship had a dangerous cargo aboard. But because of a large number of underwater rocks it is difficult to help the Ukrainian vessel.
