MOSCOW, March 4, 2004. (RIA Novosti). The Russian Central Election Commission is ready for the March 14 presidential elections, its chairman Alexander Veshnyakov told a press conference in Moscow on Thursday. According to him, the commission has accomplished preparations and has sent information materials and instructions to all the polling stations.
"We are on the final straight," Veshnyakov said.
In his words, the main task of the commission is to make the calculation of votes procedure more transparent and operative.
