MOSCOW, March 3 (RIA Novosti) - Chairman of the Board of the Russian gas giant, Gazprom, Alexei Miller, and Georgian Minister of Fuel and Energy Nikolai Gilauri agreed on Wednesday to start drafting a detailed plan for cooperation between the two structures.

RIA Novosti Wednesday received a Gazprom press release which says that at their meeting the sides discussed deliveries of Russian gas to Georgia and payments for the consumed gas, as well as perspectives of Gazprom's participation in selling gas in the territory of the republic and the development of Georgia's gas transportation system.

The republic does not produce gas, and the share of the imported gas in Georgia's energy balance amounts to about 24 percent.

In 2003, gas deliveries to Georgia amounted to 1,009 million cubic meters, including 257 million cubic meters under contracts with Gazprom and 752 million cubic meters under contracts with Itera. In 2004, Gazexport, a 100 percent branch company of Gazprom, has fully ensured gas supplies to Georgia.
