CIS ECONOMIC COURT TO MEET IN MINSK

MOSCOW, March 3, 2004 (RIA Novosti) -- The CIS Economic Court will meet in Minsk, Belarus capital, for a plenary session on Wednesday.

According to the Belarus's Embassy in Russia, the meeting will consider amendments to the agreement on the status of the Economic Court and on transferring the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) court's functions to it.

The meeting will also sum up the court's activity in 2002-2003, and discuss ways of improving its work.

Attending the meeting will also be chairmen of the higher economic courts of the states party to the agreement on the status of the CIS Economic Court, chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Yuri Yarov, and EurAsEC Secretary-General Grigory Rapota.

The EurAsEC includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrghyzstan and Tajikistan.
