MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 27 (RIA NOVOSTI) - Russia is glad to see Libya burying mass destruction arsenal plans, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press and information department.

"We greeted the Libyan leadership's resolution to give up missile technology and other mass destruction weapon programs. We regard it as an extremely responsible move aimed to maintain regional security and stability," say ministerial PR.

Russia is glad to see Libya cooperating with the IAEA and the Organization for Chemical Arms Prohibition.

Today, Libya is scheduled to start destruction of its 3,300 disassembled chemical bombs, reports the OCAP, who will closely monitor destruction works in keeping with a detailed plan, on which Libyan authorities and the OCAP technical secretariat have come to an agreement.

An Organization inspection team has arrived in Libya to take stock of all munitions to be destroyed under close international control. Organization inspectors will be always present on destruction sites.

Complete and final destruction of the above-mentioned arsenals is scheduled to finish by March 5, 2004.
