MOSCOW, February 19, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - The Trans Nafta joint-stock company is affiliated to the Gazprom, Russia's gas monopoly, alleges President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus.

Russian-based gas companies have resolutely refuted his statement. The Trans Nafta is an independent entity, and has no connection at all with the Gazprom, explain the latter's PR.

"There are no independent Russian gas exporters to Belarus for today. Government media outlets, the television included, are talking about Trans Nafta Co. nonstop. That company is a hundred percent affiliate of the Gazprom," President Lukashenko said today.
