MOSCOW, February 19, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - There is no political background to Russian gas exports to Belarus suspended, reassures Speaker Gennadi Seleznev of the Russo-Belarussian Parliamentary Assembly.
"It is a mere corporate dispute, and we must at all cost prevent it acquiring a political scope," he stresses in a statement circulated today. Mr Seleznev appeals for conscientious stances on bilateral relations and the Russian-Belarussian union cause.
