RUSSIAN VICE-PREMIER MEETS WITH BRAZILIAN PRESIDENT

BRASILIA, FEBRUARY 18 (RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT VLADIMIR STEPANOV) - The president of Brazil sees in Russia a long-term and big partner, deputy chairman of the Russian government Boris Alyoshin said at a meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva.

"The Brazilian president aims at full-scale economic cooperation despite the problems related to the implementation of our intentions," Alyoshin said in an interview.

"We have discussed the balance of our actions, from technologies to agricultural cooperation," he said.

The Russian vice-premier said that at the meeting they "touched upon problems in the aerospace sphere, focusing on space and our opportunities for arranging a joint project in this field." As regards bilateral relations, Alyoshin said that "the presidents of the two countries have created conditions for the development of not only political but also economic relations." Boris Alyoshin is in Brazil to participate in the work of an intergovernmental commission for trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation. It will continue until February 20.
