BISHKEK, February 18, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Julia Orlova) -- Russia is going to participate in the production of oil and gas in Kirghizia, Gazprom chairman of the board Alexander Ryazanov has said in Bishkek.
To him, Gazprom will participate in the tender announced by the government of Kirghizia to pass in trust management the state-held block of shares of Kirghizia's largest oil and gas enterprise, Kyrghyzneftegaz.
Kirghiz and Russian gasmen are updating and overhauling compressor stations, building meter units at trunk gas pipelines in the south of Kirghizia, re-equipping Kyrghyzneftegaz gas-distribution stations, which will eventually ensure more precise gas metering statistics.
Agreement has been reached at the meeting that Russian specialists will make a thorough inspection of the technical condition of the Kirghiz gas transport systems, prepare specific proposals for their updating and overhaul.
