GERMANY NOT TO EASE OFF ANTI-TERROR COMBAT: FOREIGN MINISTER

MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 12, RIA NOVOSTI - Germany is determined to carry on staunch combat on international terrorism, and true on its related pledges, Joschka Fischer, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said to the media after negotiations with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

The terrorist danger demands a consistent rebuff. Germany also makes it a point to protect people not involved in terrorism, he emphasised.

People connected with Chechen terror gangs are benefiting from Germany having simplified its entry, allege certain German-based media outlets. The issue was outside the Kremlin agenda, said Mr Fischer after several reporters asked him to comment. The German top does not know any instances of that kind. Whatever controversies surfaced were thoroughly checked with inquiries made to Moscow and by other means, he added.
