MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 12, RIA NOVOSTI - Joschka Fischer, Germany's Minister of Foreign Affairs, is visiting Moscow. He and Igor Ivanov, his counterpart of the host country, jointly addressed a news conference, late this afternoon.

Regrettably, the two countries retain certain differences on the Chechen issue, media freedom, and ethnic Russians' rights in Latvia and Estonia. It is no use turning a deaf ear on those differences-they demand outspoken debates to come at solutions in the spirit of shared values. Both parties agree on that, said Mr. Ivanov.
