MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 12 (RIA Novosti correspondent Nino Iosebadze) - The International Exposition Bureau has proposed to Moscow municipal authorities to bid for hosting the World Exposition of 2015. The news came as Wu Jianmin, bureau president, held conference with Mayor Yuri Luzhkov.

Will Moscow make the bid at all? The matter is to be settled at the federal and municipal levels alike. Meanwhile, it is to early to say yes or no, though the city fathers see how flattering the bureau offer is, and thanks for it, said the mayor.

Moscow lost to Shanghai a bid for EXPO 2010 venue.

Greece and Spain have by now applied to host EXPO 2015. As the bureau statute has it, the matter will come to a vote at its assembly of 2007.

A total 46 world expositions have been held since a first, in London, of 1851. The latest was in Hanover, 2000. Japan will host the nearest next year.
