TBILISI, FEBRUARY 11 (RIA Novosti) - Tsotneh Bakuria, Tbilisi branch president of the political party, Democratic Revival Alliance, opposed to Georgia's new regime, has been in the USA for a week now, and is expected back to Tbilisi, February 20.

Mr. Bakuria went to the United States at the bidding of Aslan Abashidze, Adzhar republican leader, and has by now met with spokesmen of the federal Administration, the White House and the Pentagon, and several Senators and Congressmen, says Goghi Daraselia, Democratic Revival Alliance chief of PR.

The conferees were analyzing present-day oppositionist activities in Georgia as the USA wants to see that country with a strong political opposition and a viable network of non-government organizations.

The visitor is expected to address Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., with a lecture on, "The Role of the Contemporary Opposition in Georgia." A delegation of the US Congress and Senate is expected to Georgia within the month's last ten days to contact opposition parties. Of these, Mr. Daraselia highlighted three - the Democratic Revival Alliance, Labor and New Rights. The visitors will certainly meet activists of other political organizations opposed to the regime, and involved in a current parliamentary race before a poll of March 28, added our interviewee.
