MOSCOW, February 9th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent Sergei Zelentsov) - According to the Russian foreign ministry's press and information department, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Fedotov met on Monday ambassadors of Ireland and Denmark from the EU Troika, and representatives of the US embassy in Moscow.
The meeting highlighted the situation around Chechen displaced persons in Ingushetia and, in particular, the situation at their temporary accommodation sites.
"The Russian side emphasised once again that our efforts are still aimed at voluntary return of displaced persons to the Chechen republic which is a prerequisite for normal political and social situation in the republic," noted the Russian foreign ministry.
