NIZHNY NOVGOROD, FEBRUARY 9, RIA NOVOSTI - The Gorky motor works is to sell 1,800 Gazel mini-vans to South Africa this year under a contract already signed.

In 2003, the South African government received the pilot set of 23 left-hand-drive cars equipped with Styer diesel engines.

The GAZ works has markedly widened its exports over the past three years: it sold abroad 40,000 cars in 2004 as against 18,633 in 2003. The sales to the CIS members have increased by 111 percent and to foreign countries by 82 percent.
