MOSCOW, February 8, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Condolence messages have come to Russia from Turkey's top with Friday's blast in the Moscow metro.

As the Turkish Embassy to Russia says in a press statement, President Ahmet Necdet Sezer deeply condoles with bereaved friends and relations, and wishes survivors soon to get well on behalf of his nation, and his own.

Similar messages have come from Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Abdullah Gul, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister.

The embassy is also circulating a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which reports its shock and heartfelt sympathy. Turkey indignantly denounces whatever terror acts. Terror cannot settle a single problem. That is Turkey's profound conviction, says the ministry.

A train car blast of the morning rush hours, February 6, between the Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya stations in the city centre's south, killed 39, only 23 of them identified for now. 107 survivors stay in hospital.
