LEBANESE PRESIDENT CONDOLES WITH RUSSIA ON MOSCOW BLAST

BEIRUT, February 8, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Yulia Troitskaya) - President Emile Lahud of Lebanon forwarded a telegram of condolence to the Russian top on the Moscow metro tragedy of Friday last.

The Lebanese-based press carried the telegram in today's issues. The President says, in part: "The news of the Moscow metro blast, which took dozens of lives, pains my heart. Please accept my own and the Lebanese nation's sincere condolence.

"Lebanon was victim of terror for many years," adds President Lahud as he calls the world to join hands on the anti-terror cause, and step up related information exchanges between nations.

President Lahud asks to bring his condolence to bereaved families.
