KIEV, FEBRUARY 6 (RIA Novosti correspondent Viktor Demidenko) - This year promises Ukraine ever closer and more extensive cooperation with Russia, said President Leonid Kuchma, while addressing the diplomatic corps accredited in Kiev, Ukrainian capital.
The Year of Russia in Ukraine was a success, with sizeable progress in all fields, especially commerce and other economic contacts. Bilateral cooperation will certainly continue its steady and consistent development, guaranteed against whatever unpleasant surprises, added the president.
He is sure the two countries will, within this year, determine indices for practical cooperation within the common economic space of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine.
