MOSCOW, February 5th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - A passenger jet, Tu-154, made a forced landing in Vladivostok, a large port in Russia's Far East, on Thursday. It happened because of a malfunction in one of its three engines, the Russian emergencies ministry said.

According to the ministry, none of the 63 passengers onboard and seven crewmembers was hurt.

The engine halted when the aircraft was flying over Irkutsk, some 3,000 kilometers West of Vladivostok. It was suggested that the crew make a landing at the nearest airport but the commander decided to continue the flight, and successfully landed the aircraft at the airport of original destination.

A special commission has got down to investigation.
