MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 3 (RIA Novosti) - A car blasted today in Vladikavkaz, capital of North Ossetia/Alania, Russia's autonomous republic bordering on Chechnya. One man died, and several were taken to hospital. They are soldiers injured in a car while driving past the fatal site at the tragic instant.

The VAZ 2107 blew up while parked close to the republican Committee for Standards. Another two cars - a BMW and a Zhiguli - were in the parking lot at the time, a PR officer of the Federal Security Service, or FSB, told RIA Novosti.

FSB experts think it was most probably a terror act, judging by explosive device fragments found on the spot. There are other conjectures, too - of an accident in which a gas tank blew up in the VAZ.
