MOSCOW, February 1, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Lyudmila Bershanskaya) - The office of the Russian NTV company resumes its work in Byelorussia on February 1, 2004, reported the NTV press service.

In January this year, the Information Ministry of Byelorussia and the NTV signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of television broadcasting. The document was signed with the aim of further strengthening allied relations and forming a common information space of Byelorussia and Russia.

The office of the NTV company in Byelorussia is headed now by Viktor Kuzmin who was earlier a NTV correspondent in Yekaterinburg.

The NTV press service reported that jointly with Kuzmin, cameraman Konstantin Morozov will work in Byelorussia; he served in the NTV office since 1995.

The NTV office in Minsk was closed in July last year because of the reporting by NTV correspondent Pavel Selin about the funeral of well-known Byelorussian writer Vasil Bykov. The Byelorussian authorities decided that the facts adduced by Selin did not correspond to reality and were distorted. Pavel Selin was deported from Byelorussia.
