GROZNY, February 1, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Unidentified persons shot down one of the commanders of the republican presidential security service in Chechnya.
As a source in the law-enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic reported, "the crime was committed on the night of Friday, but the information about it came only recently. In the village of Alleroi (Kurchaloi district), unidentified men in camouflage uniform entered the house of Dadayev, commander of a platoon of the presidential security service. The attackers shot down Dadayev, his son and four security men from automatic weapons," said the source.
According to him, during the skirmish one of the attackers was killed; he is being identified. Investigation into the incident has been started.
