WORLD BANK PRESIDENT PRAISES ARMENIA

YEREVAN, January 31 (RIA Novosti correspondent Gamlet Matevosyan) - In his speech at the summit meeting devoted to World Bank activities in Europe and Central Asia World bank president James Wolfensohn praised Armenia as a country actively implementing economic reforms and achieving visible progress.

According to the information provided by the department of press and information of the Armenian foreign ministry, Vagram Nersisyants, the Armenian President's chief advisor for economic matters and Arman Kirakosyan, Armenian ambassador to the USA also attended the summit.

Nersisyants spoke on the major areas of economic policy carried out by the country's leadership, the status of reforms and economic achievements of the republic, presented his proposals on subsequent development of cooperation between Armenia and the World Bank.

The summit was held in Washington on January 28-29.
