MOSCOW, January 30 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov is unsatisfied with the investigation of terrorist acts committed on the country's territory.

"Unfortunately, investigation into many cases has been protracted. The investigation is not qualitative enough," Ustinov said at an extended board of the Prosecutor General's Office.

He also underlined that the work to expose financial channels of terrorist organizations has been ineffective too.

The Russian Prosecutor General recalled that three weeks ago a sentence was passed on the case of blasted houses in Moscow and Volgodonsk. Besides, criminal proceedings have been launched into the cases of the Gelayev gang assault, the explosions in Yessentuki and Mineralnye Vody.

"At the same time, we are not satisfied with the way the investigation is advancing," noted Ustinov.

He called on prosecutors to be more responsible in countering extremism. "Above all, this is true for coordinated work to thwart, solve and investigate criminal activities. When there is work, there are results," stressed the prosecutor general.
