RUSSIAN FOOTBALLER TITOV REJECTS DOPING ACCUSATIONS

MOSCOW, JANUARY 26. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- On Monday Moscow Spartak footballer Yegor Titov has addressed fans and journalists regarding his 12-month disqualification over the use of doping.

Titov, 27, said he "has never done what could harm Spartak". "More so I have never used doping preparations. It is contrary to my human and sport principles", he said.

"I ask all fans of Spartak to go on supporting the best, in my view, football club of Russia", Titov writes in the address. "I thank very much all those who feel keenly for me now. Your concern gives me additional strength".

The UEFA disqualified Titov for the use of doping for one year in all competitions held under the UEFA aegis. A fine has been imposed on him and his club. In addition, UEFA is going to insist on spreading his disqualification on the matches of the Russian football championship.
