UN UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL TO VISIT CAMPS OF FORCED MIGRANTS IN INGUSHETIA AND CHECHNYA

MOSCOW, January 26 (RIA Novosti correspondent Dmitry Panovkin) - On Monday UN Under-Secretary-General on Humanitarian Affairs Jan Egeland will leave Moscow for the North Caucasus, the Moscow representation of the UN Department on the coordination of humanitarian affairs told RIA Novosti.

"He will fly to Ingushetia on board an Emergencies Ministry airplane, where he will meet with Ingush President Murat Zyazikov and will visit a camp of forced migrants "Satsita" in the Sunzhensky district," a source in the department said.

Then Egeland will head for Chechnya, where he is scheduled to meet with Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov. The UN Under-Secretary-General will visit a camp for temporary refugees, one of the hospitals and the center for handicapped children, the source noted.

In the evening of January 27th he plans to return to Moscow.

On Thursday, January 29th he is scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov.
