STRASBOURG, JANUARY 25 (RIA Novosti) - "Wednesday, January 28, will be devoted to Cyprus-related issues, and I plan to hold that session in the Russian language," announced Mikhail Margelov, Chairman of the International Relations Committee in the Federation Council, or Russia's upper house of parliament, and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly.

Margelov will be taking part in the PACE's winter session, which opens January 26 in Strasbourg. "The forthcoming session will have a busy and interesting agenda," he said.

According to him, of special interest will be the keynote speech by Human Rights Commissioner Alvaro Gil Robles. The commissioner is expected to offer a review of the work he did last year.

Discussions on the results of elections in Russia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan are also planned. Figuring prominently on Thursday's agenda will be speeches on Iraq, global terrorism, and the constitutional crisis in Ukraine.
