NIZHNY NOVGOROD, JANUARY 25 (RIA Novosti corr. Zhanna Voronova) - The Gorky automotive plant, in Nizhny Novgorod, is launching a new model of its famous Volga brand, GAZ 31105, Chief Executive Alexei Barantsev said in an interview.
The new automobile is a modernized version of the previous model, GAZ 3110. Along with improvements to the chassis, changes have now been made to the equipment and design of the body.
According to Barantsev, two hundred 31105 Volgas will be turned out in January. Some 72,500 such automobiles are to be assembled till the end of this year.
The flagship Russian carmaker has put $10 million dollars into the model's preparation for mass production.
