KIEV, JANUARY 23. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that "ungrounded limitations" stand in the way of trade-economic cooperation between Russia and Ukraine.

"When Leonid Kuchma and I talk on a problem in the trade-economic sphere, we are faced with ungrounded limitations from each side. These limitations give us no opportunity to develop cooperation as we would like it to", the Russian president said at the press conference in Kiev.

Putin stressed that trade-economic interaction is the priority in Russian-Ukrainian cooperation.

The trade turnover between our two countries stands at 1 billion dollars a month but "we can and must up it", noted the Russian president.
