ASTANA, JANUARY 9, RIA NOVOSTI - Russia and Kazakhstan have a good chance to finish frontier delimitation within the year, President Vladimir Putin said to a news conference in Astana, following negotiations with Nursultan Nazarbayev, his Kazakh counterpart.

President Putin does not see any major political obstacles to finishing the delimitation job. There are only technical predicaments, which require expert work, he says.

A joint statement the summiteers signed today instructs the two governments to finish delimitation treaty drafting before the year's end.
