RUSSIA TO PAY OFF $1 BLN OF FOREIGN DEBT IN JANUARY

MOSCOW, January 6, 2004. /RIA Novosti/ -- In January Russia intends to pay off $1,574,000,000 of its foreign debt, the Russian Finance Ministry reported on Tuesday.

Repayment of the major debt will amount to $522.747 million, interest payment will make $494.827 million.

The countries - official creditors of Russia, will receive $206.063 million as repayment of major debt and $47.229 million as payment of the interest rate.

International financial organizations will receive $303.794 million as repayment of major debt and $9.076 million as interest payment.

Payments on Russian European bonds will make $12.89 million on major debt and $438.522 million on interest rate.

This year Russia intends to repay the total of $16.1 billion of its foreign debt ($9 billion as debt repayment and $7.1 billion to service the debt).
